As you know bluegrass music started a long time ago with Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers, Flatt & Scruggs, and many others who have carried the traditional style torch through-out the years.   But for most of us here in Melbourne, Florida it started back at the Castaway Point Tavern many years ago.  It was there that I met Britt Holbrook, Ralph Cox, Randy King, Robert Feathers, Carl Fanning and  many other musicians all who have remained friends through out the years. Since the destruction of the tavern from the hurricanes of 2004, other picking sites were found, but that old tavern will always remain in our hearts.

The Penny Creek Band was formed in 2006 with many of the friends that I met at the tavern years ago. The band has developed into a unique group of musicians that produce heart-felt, hard driving bluegrass music as well as a generous amount of variety that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. Combining traditional bluegrass, vintage country, fresh original material, tons of energy and excitement, Penny Creek provides an abundance of entertainment value and is earning a reputation as a crowd favorite.

With smooth harmonies, heavy rhythm, and dynamic instrumentation, the band continues to appeal to a wide variety of music fans.  All members of the group also love the parking lot picking aspect of bluegrass festivals and chances are you will find them jamming after the stage show.
